Amulet Ultra Multi

The Amulet Ultra Multi systems do something utterly unique: they allow you to have (up to) 3 different pickups in your guitar, each with its own low-noise high headroom preamplifier, with 1 endpin and 1 cable! This exclusive feature is one of the design techniques that gives all of our systems their extended dynamic range and incredible clarity and definition.

It can often be useful to combine different pickup types on your instrument, either to help cope with difficult monitoring situations at a gig, or to help expand the tonal possibilities of your guitar. Combining pickup types is usually difficult and messy: additional cable runs, additional endpin jacks, or even bringing additional cables out of the soundhole to enable the necessary connections. The Amulet Ultra Multi changes all that.

The Ultra Multi allows you to use our Acoustic Lens pickups (in Mono) along with an Auxiliary (AUX) channel that can carry any additional unbalanced Mono signal out from your guitar using a single stereo cable.

The AUX channel is powered using our newly designed Analog Engine technology and can handle signals from other passive pickups such as magnetics, undersaddle, SBTs, and can even be factory configured to provide bias voltage for an internal electret microphone. Users of a typical 3 piezo disc setup can have each pickup on a separate channel, allowing you to precisely match their outputs, change their focus and tonality, and even present them in True Stereo (left, right and center channels) with our Custom Shop Multi True Stereo.

The Ultra Multi systems incorporate our advanced electronics in an ultra lightweight package, with thumbwheel controls (A and B) that are easily accessible from your guitar’s soundhole to give you immediate and precise creative control to create your own customized playing experience.

The Ultra Multi systems are available in Mono output and Stereo output versions, and all can be powered by Battery or Phantom power. Choose from 4 Multi Mono and 4 Multi Stereo system designs, each with unique features and thumbwheel control functions. Check our Custom Shop page for the Multi True Stereo, and for more options for the Multi systems. Our Custom Shop can mod any Multi preamp to support an electret MIC (on the AUX channel), as well as provide added Tone Controls on the DV, Blend and Panorama models.

Ultra Multi Mono

In the Ultra Multi Mono VT,  the A thumbwheel control is the master volume control for all 3 pickups of this mono system. The B thumbwheel provides a Tone control for channels 1/2 only (i.e.: Acoustic Lens pickups) that allows you to progressively roll off the top end of your guitar's frequency response to help sculpt your sound to your particular instrument or sound system.

Available as a Complete System including a pair of Acoustic Lens transducers for $299, and as an electronics-only Upgrade Package for use with your pickups for $219

See our Custom Shop for info on adding a modification to use an electret MIC (on the AUX channel) on this Multi model

In the Ultra Multi Mono DV, thumbwheel A is the volume control for channels 1/2 only (i.e.: Acoustic Lens pickups), and thumbwheel B is a volume control for the 3rd pickup in the AUX channel. This gives you real-time control of the balance between the transducers, which can also act as a gentle tone shaper of the whole system.

The Ultra Multi Mono Blend was designed to perfectly complement a dual pickup system where the pickups in Channels 1/2 are considered to be the main part of the sound, and the AUX channel pickup is used to help fill out the sound, but is never used entirely on its own.

On this preamp, thumbwheel A is the master volume control for all 3 pickups, and thumbwheel B controls (“blends”) the amount of the AUX pickup in the overall mix.
A great use of this would be a guitar setup with our Acoustic Lenses or other SBTs as the main sound source, and an undersaddle, magnetic or mic as the AUX pickup to support the main sound. Each pickup input channel has an easily-accessible gain trimmer to set the overall available output level for each pickup.

The Ultra Multi Mono Panorama's A thumbwheel control is the master volume control for all 3 pickups, and the B thumbwheel Pans smoothly between Channel 1/2 and the 3rd pickup in the AUX input. The center of the thumbwheel's arc is the balanced center between the Channel 1/2 and AUX pickups, and the farther you go from center emphasizes which pickups you choose.

The Pan control thumbwheel allows you to choose between either pickup source individually, and to simply combine them in ways that sound best for a particular guitar or song. This also gives you the flexibility to dial in the pickup mix “on the fly” to deal with unexpected problems, such as feedback from poor monitoring situations.

Available as a Complete System including a pair of Acoustic Lens transducers for $309, and as an electronics-only Upgrade Package for use with your pickups for $229

Ultra Multi Stereo

In the Ultra Multi Stereo VT The A thumbwheel control is the master volume control for all 3 pickups of this stereo system. The B thumbwheel provides a Tone control for channels 1/2 only (i.e.: Acoustic Lens pickups) that allows you to progressively roll off the top end of your guitar's frequency response to help sculpt your sound to your particular instrument or sound system.

Stereo output: one channel is the summed Channel 1/2 (i.e.: Acoustic Lenses); the other channel is AUX
